MoldSign Desktop Suite (MSDS) – an innovatove tool for verifying the integrity of electronically signed documents

Public Institution „Information Technology and Cyber Security Service”  has released a new version of the MoldSign Desktop Suite (MSDS) product, confirming its continued commitment for meeting users’ needs and ensuring the highest standards of security and efficiency in the domain of trusted services. 

Version 2.2.0 of MoldSign Desktop Suite presents new services and functionalities designed to:

1. Increase compatibility and operational efficiency 

2. Ensure data protection and prevent unauthorized access 

3. Enhance the accuracy and performance of applying electronic signatures 

4. Offers a visually pleasing and intuitive experinece to users

The most remarkable functionality introduced, experienced for the first time in the Republic of Moldova, is the verification of the integrity of the content of electronically signed documents in  PAdES-T (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures with Time-Stamp) format. This format incorporates a timestamp obtained from an authorized server, guaranteeing the authenticity and integrity of the document at the time of signing. 

Ensuring the integrity of the qualified electronic signature is crucial for any received electronic document, as there’s a risk of potential modifications followed by applying the signature of another person. The new functionality enables users to verify whether the content of the document has been altered or modified since the electronic signature was applied. 

The development of this updated version of MoldSign Desktop Suite was made possible with the support of eGA (e-Governance Academy Estonia), a trusted partner in systematically strengthening cybersecurity in the Republic of Moldova. Successful bilateral cooperation with eGA has significantly enhanced the country’s capacity to manage cyber incidents and build a proper cybersecurity culture within Moldovan society.
